Welcome to the CRYSTALizing site!

CRYSTAL Atlantique is planning Canada's first ever working conference on informal learning in science, math and technology. Our research for the past 5 years has focused on understanding the culture of science, math and technology in informal contexts. Through this work, we have come to realize how little meta-analysis of informal learning research in these areas has taken place. CRYSTALizing will bring together CRYSTAL members from across Canada, as well as all Canadian and key international researchers with expertise in informal learning in this field. With this opportunity to share our work, we can begin the process of synthesizing findings, and placing research in an international context.

CRYSTALizing is a working conference, intended to produce a published book. Most time will be spent collaborating in small working groups, interspersed with panel discussions. Working groups are organized by theme, with the goal of drafting a book chapter. To learn more about the conference, please explore the Overview, program, and events sections of this site. If you haven't heard from us yet, and are interested in attending this conference, please do not hesitate to contact us.
